Dr. Stanley Jacobs is a triple-board certified, fellowship-trained surgeon, an elected house delegate for the California Medical Association. He has over 30 years of experience, and serves as the show’s Host. DND will feature his Award Winning Surgical Teaching and Care Certification Program focusing on the lack of basic surgical care in rural areas.
This episode, will introduce a meaningful program that will include teaching selected local villagers how to clean and sew a wound for children and adults in need, starting with very basic principles of cleansing, and determining when a wound needs to be sewn. The premise is to teach individuals how to care for themselves.
During this segment, we will introduce and highlight various elements of his innovative training program for those underserved communities who do not have access to basic surgical wound care.
Villagers in these countries will be taught how to clean and sew a wound. Dr. Jacobs is working with local authorities to organize certain individuals that are not doctors to teach them these basic skills. They then would teach others, who would continue the process in teaching others. The first country to be visited will be Uganda in April 2020. The plan is to expand the program to many other countries, such as India, starting with Tamil Nadu.
The program will be featured on “Discover New Dimensions,” an informative and entertaining medical TV series and companion podcast created to present inspirational, emotional and truly enlightening global health issues focused on infectious diseases, which do not end at national borders.
Help us in our quest to distribute basic modern surgical training to the rest of the world.
